Ward Armstrong retired as President of the Oregon Forest Industries
Council in 1998. Since that date Ward has established his own consulting
company and is currently the Program Director for the Executive Seminar
Program at Portland State University's Mark O. Hatfield School of Government.
Prior to his work at OFIC, Ward was Director of Issues Management for
Weyerhaeuser company in Tacoma, WA, and prior to that was Oregon Public
Affairs Manager for Weyerhaeuser Co. Ward served as Natural Resources
Director for the Associated Oregon Industries from 1967 - 1972 and was
Executive Secretary of the Association of Oregon Counties from 1962-1967.
Ward has a B.S. degree in forestry from Oregon State University and
a J.D. degree from Lewis and Clark College of Law. Ward's avocations
include bicycling and he volunteers his time lobbying in Salem, OR for
the Oregon Bicycle Transportation Alliance.
